Climate change is still a major problem around the world. The situation of an area with urban characteristics that have very dense activities is one of the causes. Especially at the scale of the Metropolitan Area, the concept of forming an agglomeration of different urban centers will further increase the intensity of activities in it. Rebana, one of Indonesia's metropolitan areas that plays a role in improving the economy of West Java Province through the industrial sector, has the potential to affect climate change, one of which is from pollution in the industrial area. In the context of ecosystem balance, this needs to be a special concern, especially to overcome the problem of climate change that will occur through carbon storage modelling. This research aims to model carbon storage in the Rebana Metropolitan Area in the future. The analysis stages include two things: analyzing land cover changes using the molusce plug-in in QGIS and analyzing carbon storage loss using InVEST in the prediction year. At the end of the research, there were findings, namely the prediction of land cover change from non-built areas to built-up areas increasing and resulting in lands that function as carbon storage decreasing. Recommendations were given to make a clear inventory of the distribution of carbon storage areas and policies to maintain their existence in order to reduce the causes of climate change. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing.
