Graphene hydrogels are promising materials for environmental protection and remediation due to their unique characteristics, such as high surface area, tunable porosity, and excellent mechanical properties. Recent studies have highlighted the utilization of graphene hydrogels in various fields, including energy storage, wastewater treatment, biosensing, and biomedicine. However, conventional methods of graphene hydrogel fabrication often face limitations, such as scalability, cost, and environmental impact. This chapter will summarize recent trends in the biofabrication of graphene hydrogels, focusing specifically on their applications in environmental protection and remediation. These innovative techniques aim to bridge the gap between conventional fabrication methods and the use of bio-based materials, offering more sustainable and efficient alternatives for graphene hydrogel production.
