Abstract

Low energy surface coating is needed for a wide range of utilization, especially for producing hydrophobic and superhydrophobic surfaces. The degree of hydrophobicity depends on the coated materials' fabrication process. In this study, the cellulosic-based material was soaked using vinyltrimethoxy silane (VTMS) for 1 and 18 h. The contact angle measurement confirmed the formation of hydrophobic surfaces, and the SEM images also supported the reason for this result. © 2025 Author(s).
