LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) is widely used by the nation. However, in reality, LPG sometimes may endanger users if there is a leak either in the cylinder or gas hose. It is caused by the fact that LPG is a flammable gas when in free air and can cause explosions. To overcome this jeopardy, we need a system device that can detect LPG leaks and provide early warnings to users when LPG leaks occur. This work's detection system will classify LPG leakage conditions based on PPM (part per million) values determined by the MQ-6 sensor. These conditions are divided into three states, namely, safe, alert, and danger level. The tool is designed to have the main feature of providing hazard warnings through cellular calls and SMS (Short Message Service) to the user's mobile phone when an LPG leak occurs in a hazardous condition. Besides the main features, other features can inform the remaining LPG gas in the cylinder, check the GSM sim card's credit balance, and automatically turn on the fan when an LPG leak occurs. The device's testing shows that the system successfully sent an SMS and called the user when a leak occurred in danger status. Also, the device managed to turn on the fan automatically and emit an alarm. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
