Abstract

The comfort of the classroom is very important in supporting the learning process. The purpose of this research is to design Smart Comfort system that can monitor and control thermal and lighting parameters in E204 classrooms ITERA based on internet of thing. Smart Comfort system consists of ESP32, ESP32-Cam, DHT11 sensor, LDR sensor, relay, lamp, and fan integrated as IoT through Firebase database and application using Kodular. For instantly implementation, Smart Comfort system testing uses a miniature model with a size of 1:10. The performance of Smart Comfort was analyzed by examining the function performance, accuracy, and precision of the system. The device is designed using calibrated sensors with DHT11 accuracy of 94.21% for relative humidity and 97.12% for temperature with an average confidence interval (α = 5%) of 69.8 ± 0.392% for relative humidity and 29.98 ± 0.206°C for temperature. The accuracy of the LDR sensor is in the range of 97.34% - 99.98% with the largest confidence interval (α = 5%) being 128.3 ± 0 lux. All sensors perform well and provide well-controlled fan and light outputs and the camera also works in the monitoring system. The results of monitoring relative humidity and temperature are categorized as comfortable warm in accordance with the comfortable category of SNI 03-6572-2001. The results of light intensity monitoring are in the range of 100 - 1221 lux or fluctuating high, which means that the light intensity is not in accordance with the comfortable category of SNI 03-6575-2001. © 2025 Author(s).
